Dr. Marshall Howerton - Veterinarian

Dr. Marshall Howerton was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, and knew from a young age that he wanted to become a veterinarian. He earned his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University before receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Howerton enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, with special interests in preventive care, dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and orthopedics. He is passionate about partnering with pet owners to develop personalized care plans and building lasting relationships with both pets and their families.

New to the Austin area, Dr. Howerton was drawn to the city's outdoor lifestyle, live music, and incredible food scene. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys reading, surfing and wakesurfing, cooking, playing guitar, and spending time with friends and family. Fun fact: Dr. Howerton has actually been bitten by a copperhead—so if your pet ever has the same unfortunate experience, he can genuinely empathize!
